# How to create a place

Follow these steps to create a new place:

1. Open the **group** or **Personal Space** you want to add places to.
2. Click on "**Places**".
3. Click on "**+ Add**".
4. Choose an **icon** for your place.
5. Enter a **name** for your place (e.g., "Home", "Work", etc.).
6. Then you can search for a specific address or long press on the map to **add or adjust your place**.
7. Adjust the **radius/area** of your place.
8. Click on "**Create place**" to save your new place.

### What does the radius/area mean?
The radius/area is the area around the place that will be monitored. If someone enters or leaves this area, you will be notified.
The default radius is around 200 meters. You can adjust it to your needs.<br>
The bigger the radius, the more accurate the notifications will be.
If you set a very small radius, place alerts might be triggered more often than you want or might not be triggered at all.
