What is Location History

Location History allows you to view past movements and locations for yourself or members of your groups. It provides a secure way to review travel paths, stops, and location statistics.

Location history data is highly sensitive, and Paralino treats it with the highest level of security. All location points are end-to-end encrypted with automatically rotating keys, both in personal space and in groups. In groups, your device creates unique encryption key for every member and rotates them regularly. Also, members can only see location history from the point when they joined the group.

When reviewing location history, you can see the path you took, the stops you made, and the location statistics (distance, total entries, maximum speed, networks you were connected to, average battery level, battery range, elevation gain, elevation range). You can also switch between devices to see the history for that device.

Location history is very detailed and all your location points are included. You can switch to detailed view and see each individual location point and its metadata (battery level, signal strength, speed, elevation, network type, etc.). All that metadata is also end-to-end encrypted.

Data Retention#

The amount of location history saved depends on your subscription plan.

All location history older than the amount of days specified in your plan is deleted automatically.

On the Max plan, your Personal Space history can be stored indefinitely, allowing you to build a complete record of your travels over years. Read more about personal location history.

You can of course delete your location history at any time or not store it at all.
