How does Paralino protect my data?#

Paralino prioritizes your privacy by using end-to-end encryption, meaning only you and the people you choose can view your location and shared data. Paralino cannot access, decrypt, or share your data, ensuring total privacy.

What information does Paralino collect?#

Paralino collects minimal data necessary for app functionality. Basic information like your email (if provided), IP address, and device status is used to help with login, account security, and app performance. All sensitive location data is end-to-end encrypted, meaning we can’t access or see it.

Can I use Paralino anonymously?#

Yes, you can. Paralino allows you to create an account anonymously without providing an email address. This feature lets you use the app while keeping your identity private.

Does Paralino sell or share my data?#

No, Paralino does not sell, trade, or share your personal information. Your data is yours alone and we can not even access it.

How does location sharing work in Paralino?#

Paralino allows you to share your location in real-time with family and friends. You can control who sees your location, for how long, and even customize settings for different groups. Paralino’s location sharing is encrypted, ensuring that only those you’ve chosen can see it.

Can I limit what information others see?#

Yes, Paralino gives you full control over your data. You can choose to share only your location without revealing extra information like speed, battery status, or device details. Customize what each contact can see, ensuring privacy while staying connected.

How do place alerts work?#

Place alerts notify you when a loved one enters or exits a specific location, like home, work, or school. You can set up alerts for key locations to stay informed without needing to constantly check the app.

Can I connect multiple devices to one Paralino account?#

Yes, Paralino lets you connect multiple devices to one account. This is great for tracking multiple family members or personal devices, helping you manage everything in one place securely.

How does Paralino conserve battery?#

Paralino is designed to use minimal resources. You can also conserve battery by adjusting settings, like limiting notifications, using short-term location sharing, and turning off location services when not in use. Enabling your phone’s low power mode can also help.

Why does Paralino still have Google Maps on Android?#

For vast majority of users, the best and easiest way to get Paralino is to install it from the Google Play Store. That version of the app also gives you the option to use Google Maps and Google Location Services. Using those services provides most users with the best experience in terms of location accuracy and map performance. Google Maps also provides satellite imagery for everyone, which is not available in the de-googled version for free. Does Paralino use Google Services?#

For the Android version published on the Google Play Store, Paralino uses some Google Play service like Google Maps, push notifications, in app billing for subscriptions. None of those are required for the app to work and are optional services to improve the user experience on that specific Android version. Paralino also provides a de-googled version that does not use any Google services which you can get from the download page. Paralino as a service does not use Google’s infrastructure for its backend regardless of the mobile app version you use.

Is Paralino compliant with privacy laws?#

Yes, Paralino is fully GDPR-compliant and follows strict data protection standards. Paralino is based in Austria and adheres to European privacy laws, ensuring transparency, security, and respect for user privacy.

Can I delete my Paralino account?#

Yes, you can delete your account anytime directly in the Paralino app. Deleting your account permanently removes all data linked to it. For added security, data in backups is also erased within 30 days.

How can I manage notifications in Paralino?#

You can customize notifications in Paralino’s settings, limiting them to essential alerts like place updates or specific members.

How does Paralino handle payments?#

Paralino uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions securely. Payments are processed through Apple, Google, or Polar.sh, meaning Paralino does not store sensitive payment information like credit card details.

Paralino is an excellent tool for parents to safely monitor children. Location sharing can help families stay connected while ensuring privacy and security.
