From enhancing the user experience to adding powerful new tools, we’ve been working hard to make Paralino the best privacy-first location-sharing app out there. Here’s a recap of what’s new.

A Smoother Start

We’ve made it easier than ever for new users to get started with Paralino. The app now features guided onboarding screens that walk you through the setup process, ensuring you’re ready to share locations securely right from the start. And if you need a refresher, you can replay the onboarding anytime through the settings menu.

Enhanced Location Sharing Accuracy

One of our top priorities has been improving the accuracy of place alerts and location updates. Recent updates include:

• Better Enter/Exit Detection: Place alerts are now more precise, helping you stay informed while reducing false positives.
• Customizable Location Performance: You now have more control over how Paralino balances location accuracy and battery usage, allowing you to optimize the app to meet your needs.
• Improved Background Stability: Android users on versions 14 and 15 will notice much smoother background updates. Additionally, Paralino now works more seamlessly on GrapheneOS.

Improved Usability and Accessibility

We’ve made Paralino even easier and more enjoyable to use with several updates:

• The app now supports imperial units, so users can view distances and speeds in miles, feet, and mph.
• A revamped settings page allows you to fine-tune the app to suit your preferences, including detailed controls for performance and notifications.
• You can toggle location-sharing notifications on or off, ensuring you only receive alerts that matter to you.
• Improved error handling and clearer messages ensure a more seamless experience.
• Small updates can make a big difference. We’ve improved app stability, reduced crashes, and optimized various animations and interactions for a smoother experience.
• German users rejoice: Paralino ist jetzt auf Deutsch übersetzt!

Looking Ahead

As we continue to refine and expand Paralino, we’re excited to share that even more features are on the way, including:

• Customizable Place Notifications: Soon, you’ll be able to customize place alerts for each member, ensuring you receive only the notifications you care about.
• Low Battery Notifications: Get notified when a group member’s battery is running low.
• Location Requests: Manually refresh a member’s location by sending a high-priority location request that will wake their device.
• Location History: A private, secure alternative to Google Timeline.
• iOS App: The iOS version is nearly ready and will make Paralino even more accessible.
• Multi-Device Support: Track your own devices and share locations seamlessly with only one account.
