Paralino is a private location sharing app and family GPS tracker for Android and iOS. You share live location in groups, keep your own devices in a personal space, and look back at past routes when you need them. Location data is encrypted on the device before it is sent. Paralino cannot read it.

The company is based in Salzburg, Austria, follows GDPR, and runs its servers in the EU. There are no ads, no tracking, and no sale of personal data. The Android and iOS apps are open source on GitHub.

Live GPS updates appear on a map. You choose what to share and for how long. Sharing can pause at any time, end after a set window, or leave out details such as speed and battery. Approximate location and privacy zones hide precise coordinates when you want more discretion inside a group.

Places, alerts, and device status

Place alerts notify group members when someone arrives at or leaves a place you define. Low battery alerts warn before a phone dies. When you allow it, members can also see battery level, signal strength, permissions, and similar status details.

History, personal space, and groups

Location history shows past paths, timing, and device status for shared journeys. Personal space is for your own tablets, work phones, and spare devices, without putting them in a group. You can run several groups with separate sharing rules for family, friends, or travel.

Encryption

Paralino uses end-to-end encryption backed by Libsodium (Argon2id, XChaCha20-Poly1305, X25519, Ed25519). Push notifications are empty wake-ups; the app builds the message content locally after decrypting. A technical overview is on the architecture page.
